Designer: Rebecca Minkoff
Inspiration: So much California loving, early ’80s style, going on with this collection and its mix of sporty meets punk meets valley-girl pieces.
Trends: Minkoff brings girlie-girl grunge articles into her overarching sweet line, including metal zipper embellished skinnies, soft tees with safety pin detailing, and patterned sweatshirts featuring leather sleeves. Most styles, however, lean less on the side of hardcore and more on that of haute. Models donned multiple mini skirt and moto jacket pairings, the ultimate chic and trendy ensemble for modern girls, accessorized with ankle strap heels and pouch clutches (including Lucite ones). Also on the look line were graphic pullovers put together with sophisticated pencil skirts.
Palette: The collection’s mixing and matching of interesting graphics, bold color, and fun patterns stole the show. Minkoff got creative with neon green tweed, grey medallion patterns, tiger-stripes from brown to bubblegum pink, cobalt, white and rose florals, faded navy and white stripes, multi-colored parakeet print, bright blue, black leather, peach, and gold.
Who Should Wear It: Glam girls, Lauren Conrad, Hayden Panettiere, Emmy Rossum.
