Redefining Smoke

Redefining-Smoke

If we were to ask you what the color of smoke is, our best guess at your answer would be gray (oh, how we know you so well!). Though this season, beauty experts and makeup artists are putting a spin on our common knowledge for what we call the “redefinition of smoke.” This summer, create the same dangerously mysterious smoky eye effect substituting blacks, browns, and grays with blues, greens, and violets, as seen above on Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne, and Jessica Szohr. We’re not sure whether summer’s natural beauties are the inspirations for the sudden acceptance of bold blue eye shadow, but we do know that we suddenly look good in it!

Disclaimer: We would never encourage you to go overboard with color. Sing your blues in moderation to avoid transforming into Kathy Kinney’s Mimi character on “The Drew Carey Show.” Ha!
