Revlon Releases Women’s Cancer Awareness PSA with Halle Berry & Emma Stone

By  September 19, 2012

With Breast Cancer Awareness Month on the horizon, Revlon has just announced its first-ever public service announcement in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to spread the word that “Your Lips Can Save Lives.” The PSAs feature the beauty brand’s global ambassadors, Halle Berry and Emma Stone. The “Power of Lips” PSA directed by Darren Aronofsky brings the two actresses together for the first time to address the importance of raising awareness and early detection of the disease straight from their lips. “We sort of did a play on how we can use our lips, while wearing lipstick, to laugh, to flirt, and to spread the word about cancer and encourage women to dot he same, “ Berry explained. “I hope that our message will be well received because early detection is really one of the best way to fight cancer.”

Since 1990, the cosmetic company’s Revlon Cares foundation has raised over $75 million towards research, treatment, education, and awareness of women’s cancers. In addition to gracing TV screens, a print campaign shot by Steven Klein shows Emma getting hugged by her mother, Krista Stone, who is a triple negative breast cancer survivor. “Basically we’re saying that lips can save live because we can talk to the women we love about getting screened today,” said Stone. “The best part about being a part of Revlon is all that they have done for breast cancer awareness and research.”

The PSAs will begin airing nationwide this week, while the print executions will appear in October and November issues of magazines. For more information, please visit RevlonCares.com.
