Rihanna’s ‘Styled to Rock’ Reality Show Coming to the States

By  December 06, 2012

Rihanna fans, rejoice! The 777 Tour alum is bringing her fashion reality competition stateside… and she will appear on the format, after all! After a successful first season in the U.K., Styled to Rock, where budding designers battle it out to create performance outfits for celebrities, will be airing on the Style Network next year. The European version, hosted by Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud and designer Henry Holland, tasked contestants with styling a look for a different star in each week, giving them exclusive access to some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. The contestants were mentored by the singer’s own stylist, Lysa Cooper, and had the chance to craft ensembles for Kanye West, BFF Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, and the star herself. After all was said and done, 22-year-old Zainab Vandu-Chikolo was named season one’s winner, and received the ultimate prize of creating Rihanna’s Wireless Festival outfit (seen above). Now that it’s being redeveloped for American television, Rihanna’s reality romp is gearing up to bring forth some A-list fashion and entertainment personalities (we can only hope for a Jay-Z and Beyoncé appearance!). Lucky for the most sartorially savvy members of the Rihanna navy, you can get in on the action too as casting kicked off Wednesday!
