It seems that Rihanna has her wires crossed for her third collection for River Island. While fall fashion is meant to bite back against the bitter cold, the pieces themselves might leave you with a case of the sniffles.

Ever one to sport something sexy regardless of the temperature, the songstress opted for more streetwise apparel perfect for the Big Apple. With a slew of crop tops, high slits, sporty lingerie, and breezy fabrics to go along with bomber jackets and coats, the collection is meant to layered, according to RiRi’s co-designer, Adam Selman. “The way I approach winter style is to layer up summer clothes and Rihanna does the same,” he told Vogue UK. “But there are coats and sweatshirts – those pieces were key. It’s a little more refined.”

Though full ensembles aren’t advised in the middle of a blizzard, especially in sky-high heeled platforms, a piece or two could spice up the average sweater set under a thick coat. Either way, Rihanna and her Navy are sure to rock each and every piece this winter in a collection that’s giving us serious ’90s Tommy Hilfiger flashbacks.
