Looks like there’s a new girl crush growing. Apparently, Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, has been trying to sell her mom on Rita Ora as the face of Material Girl for quite a while. At long last, her powers of persuasion have paid off! The two singers finally met during the Met Ball earlier this month and the Queen of Pop loved her attitude, signing off on Lourdes’ choice.
Ora inked the deal for 500,000 pounds, which the equivalent of $763,300. She’s signed to Next Models, and just replaced Alexa Chung as the face of Superga. With previous cover moments for for Elle UK, Hunger and Glamour, we think she’ll be perfect as the face for Material Girl.
She’s in good company: Georgia May Jagger, Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen have previously been the face of the brand!
Update: It’s official! Material Girl has officially announced Ora as the global face of its Fall 2013 campaign. As her Madge-sty met the songstress at the “Sound for Change Concert,” Madonna and Lola were excited to have her.“Rita is a talented beauty but what really drew us to her is the confidence she oozes through her music and her unique sense of style. On stage or off, in photos or on the street – she’s a magnet! This is what the Material Girl brand is all about!” Congrats!
