Russian Rouge-lette

By  August 14, 2009

The largest country in the world is home to many of the most beautiful women in the world. Every season, statuesque and svelte Russian models make their way down the runways—Natasha Poly, Anna Selezneva, Sasha Pivovarova… and Natalia Vodianova, whose effortless blond beauty also served as the inspiration for Guerlain’s fall 2009 color collection, “Russian Beauty.”

Guerlain Creative Director Olivier Échaudemaison drew inspiration from Natalia as the face of the collection and from the colors of her native Moscow. Nicole Mutasow, Guerlain’s PR Director, described the color inspiration as a combination of natural beauty and the elemnts: “the way the sunsets makes your cheeks look” and “the way your cheeks have that pink glow” when you’re in “the brisk wind of the Russian air.”

If the collection—which includes eyes-and-lips palettes, lip balms, mascaras, and more—can make us look anything more like Natalia, we’ll be running out to buy the entire thing!
