I never thought that I’d be a poodle person. I’ve always loved dogs…but poodles, as a breed, seem so prim, proper, and unapproachable. And then I met Reese, and I instantly fell in love with this two pound bundle of apricot-colored curls. Fast forward two years, and she’s now an eight pound little terrorist with a touch of a temper and a penchant for mischief. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Well, Reese has turned me into a major poodle fanatic. I just think they’re awesome — even big scary standard poodles in all their frou-frou hairless hideousness make me laugh. They’re sort of hilarious and completely brilliant. I joke with my boyfriend that I want to get a poodle of every variety. We have a toy… now all we need is a miniature and a standard. He doesn’t laugh, because he knows that I’m actually testing the waters.

Anyway, I now have this crazy old-lady obsession with collecting poodle products from umbrellas to stuffed animals to pajamas. It’s creepy, I know. The latest item on my wish-list is this Jonathan Adler poodle-inspired salt-and-pepper set. How kitschy and cute?!? They’d make a playful, silly addition to the dinner table… And these poodles can’t yap back!
