On the heels, pun intended, of Sam Edelman’s announcement that the brand would take the next step forward to becoming a lifestyle brand with a line of handbags and accessories, Sam and Libby are gearing up for their fall apparel launch.

Aimed at the 23-to-30 year old woman who works in the creative industry, the fashion forward line will retail in Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Hudson’s Bay, Lord & Taylor and Dillard’s plus online destinations like Zappos, Amazon and Shopbop.

“There’s a sexiness to it,” Leslie Singer, president of Sam Edelman sportswear told Women’s Wear Daily. “It’s trend-on, but not trendy.” Further, ‘The Sam Girl’ can “put on a suit or mix it up and make it more playful,” Kim Tootell, director of sales said. “We want to outfit her from day to night. She can change her shoes and bag and go out in the evening. Versatility is key,” Singer said.

The apparel is expected to retail from $30 to $170.
