Amy Adams is everywhere in anticipation of her latest flick, Man of Steel. While the star sports wavy tresses throughout the movie as the iconic Louis Lane (most often pulled back into a ponytail or low bun), she lets her scarlet locks blow free for her upcoming cover of Allure. To recreate the wind-swept beach waves, we turned to award-winning hairstylist Dominick Pucciarello for a tutorial we can try at home:
Start with damp, towel-dried hair – squeeze out all of the extra moisture to ensure a faster blowout. Spray on L’Oréal Professionnel Lift Extreme from root to tip and brush through your hair for even coverage.
Flip your head upside down and blow-dry with the Kiss Tornado 360 Dryer, using your fingers to de-tangle and add extra volume and texture. Once the hair is almost dry, flip your head back over and finish blow-drying with your fingers.
Next, section off the hair from the bottom to the top and front. Grab medium section and clamp the Silicone Styler at the ends and twist the styler up towards the crown, making sure to hold the iron vertically and away from the face. Hold the hair for 5-10 seconds and let the hair loosely fall out. You can flat iron the ends for an added beachy effect.
Shake out the strands with your fingers to loosen the curls. Finish the style with a spritz of Oribe’s Apres Beach Wave & Shine spray and get ready to strike a sultry (or super hero) pose.
