Serial Snooze Artist, Vol. 4: The Striped Blazer

By  November 04, 2013

As far as basics go, a striped blazer is as essential of a closet staple as a basic white blouse or lightweight denim jacket.

I’ve never met a stripe I didn’t like – but my look du jour isn’t really preppy or nautical by nature; it’s more of the utilitarian iteration.

For this month’s Serial Snooze Artist series, it’s all about my BCBGMAXAZRIA blazer – a piece that seamlessly fuses feminine sensibility with a contemporary, menswear-inspired cut.

I treat this striped separate as I would The Vest – so in other words, I layer it over anything and everything. As of late, that’s been floral blouses, camo prints and head-to-toe white.

It’s lightweight, casual and softer than my favorite chunky knit, but it also has a tailored fit, which lends a polished look to the ‘ol jeans-and-tee routine.

Super-chic, sleek and very versatile – done, done and done.
