Miley-Cyrus-VEVO-CERTIFIED

Miley Cyrus caused an incredible stir since shearing off her stands, stripping down, and sticking out her tongue, but the fear of baring it all was nothing compared to baring her soul for her controversial “Wrecking Ball” clip.

The Bangerz songstress sat down with Vevo after receiving Certified status (racking up over 100 million views) from the music video site for the Terry Richardson-directed video and her summer anthem “We Can’t Stop,” admitting she doesn’t like to be seen as vulnerable. “I’d rather be naked in front of people than cry in front of people because I don’t like showing weakness and that shows a lot of vulnerabilities,” she explained. “It was harder to be in that emotional state in front of so many people on set — rather than it just be about being naked.”

It’s not surprising, as the former Disney star has worked hard to shed her Hannah Montana identity. By appearing on multiple magazine covers partially or fully nude, she’s become a lightning rod for much commentary. “For me, nudity has never been something that I’ve ever tripped about. I don’t really see it the way everyone else sees it,” she said.
