Sipping Pretty: The Manhattan Cocktail Classic Opening Gala

By  May 16, 2011

It’s not every night that you get invited to a classy black-tie affair at the New York Public Library. So when someone says “Would you like to go to the Manhattan Cocktail Classic opening gala?,” there’s really only one way to answer …. Duh!

Spanning four floors, two city blocks, and over ten million cubic feet of space, the sensational soiree took over the Bryant Park building on Friday evening, filling the mammoth hallways and cavernous arches with music, merriment, and every imaginable cocktail.

We sipped deliciously innovative libations created by some of the city’s most in-demand mixologists, schmoozed, and danced the night away at the incredible event which was equal parts circus, disco, and fancy-schmancy private fete.

It was an amazing way to kick off the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, a series of booze-infused events celebrating the best in drinks and New York’s most talented bartenders … We hope to see you there next year. (Tickets were available for purchase this year for a mere $150.) And with thousands of cocktails to try (literally, 25,000!), you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Just two tips: Get there early, and wear your most fabulous fascinator. xo
