Kim Kardashian sparkled in silver on the pages of W magazine in 2010. Readers interpreted the look as a skintight bodysuit, but the reality star actually posed in just metallic body paint.
For her 2012 “Where Have You Been” music video, Rihanna turned reptilian thanks to the work of some amazing body-paint artists. Strategically placed “scales” adorned her spine and chest in such perfection that it was hard to believe the singer didn’t actually sprout crocodile hide.

It was a sight that couldn’t be unseen—Heidi Klum’s 2011 Halloween costume, in which she dressed as a corpse. To transform the model into a “visible human body,” artists worked for many hours.

Green paint, scaly details, and a snake-like mouth—we almost forgot there was a top model under there!
Actress Demi Moore had us convinced that the tailored suit she wore on the cover of the August 1992 edition of Vanity Fair came from a top clothing designer. But it was just the work of super-talented body-paint artists. That’s right—Moore was actually in her birthday suit!
Kate Upton chose to bare it all, with the exception of some beautiful (and well-placed) paint in the 2013 swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated. Body art has never been hotter!
