All aboard the Celebrity Summit! My jaw dropped at the first sight of my adorable Aquaclass stateroom. A big bed, loveseat, and a sunny balcony I couldn't get enough of. Oh and look, champagne!
There was no time to pop (my own) bottles, as I joined the other lovely ladies in my group at Revelations, a nightclub located at the bow of the vessel, for Sailaway cocktails.
We all freshened up before entering a different culinary world at Qsine where we met our favorite person on board, our waiter Herby. We ordered multiple courses of Sushi Lollipops and Disco Shrimp via the iPad menu. Then we came face to face with M's Favorites, which included a triple-decker-display of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean delights. And, yes, we ordered dessert!
After filling up at Qsine, we decided to burn off the excess calories by stopping by the Liquid Lounge out on the pool deck where we got to meet mermaids (and mermen). So how does she waterproof her look? She trusts brands like Make Up For Ever and MAC and tries not to touch her face.
We kicked off the second day onboard with a tour of the bridge and the engine (sorry, no snaps allowed). But with the ocean this blue, who could be mad?
We soaked up a little sun before heading straight to the spa where we checked out the Persian gardens, steam rooms, gym, and salon. The coolest had to be the immersion pool reserved for the Euphoria Ritual. We beauty buffs pampered ourselves with the Dream Ritual, and by dreaming, we mean we fell asleep during it. It was that good.
Talk about a sweet spread! Our inner foodie danced with delight during our dinner at Normandie. Thanks to the variety of decadent fare we supped and shared well past closing time!
Instead of heading to bed, we traveled back to the '70s at Revelations where dancers and guests alike shook it to the sounds of disco.
Why sit on the sidelines when you can get in the game?
Exploring the galley before breakfast may not seem like the best idea, but when chocolate's involved, who can say no? All of the restaurant's incredible meals as well as the daily buffet come out of the same kitchen, and whatever's left over is turned into fish food.
I grab a quick bite after the tour, and try to catch up on a some of the emails I have waiting in my inbox.
After working up an appetite, I joined the girls at the Oceanview Cafe for a clean lunch of salad and wild rice. Then, it was off to the Canyon Ranch Spa where I received the Environ Ultimate Vitamin Therapy Facial. The active-rich mask worked its magic, leaving my skin soft, hydrated, and glowing. Obvi!
What was meant to be a casual dinner, wasn't as soon as we ordered! Blu, which is exclusive to AquaClass passengers, has an incredible menu that aligns with Canyon Ranch's healthy lifestyle.
Instead of going to bed, we all opted for a few belly laughs. Sin City Comedy blends a bit of burlesque with a few comic sets from a few up-and-comers.
Uh-oh! Stormy weather was headed our way as we docked in Bermuda. After breakfast we found out the our sailing lesson and glass bottom boat ride were cancelled.
Fear not! We weren't going to waste the opportunity to explore the island because of a bit of wind and rain. We rallied together, called up a driver and hit the road.
The first stop? Lunch, of course! We stopped at Beau Rivage to try the island's signature drink, the Rum Swizzle, and snack on jumbo fried shrimp and more.
After we were full, our driver gave us a our of the island. At Horseshoe Bay, we watched as a windsurfer took advantage of the coming storm, catching lots of air along the way.
Our next stop was the Sea Glass Beach. Ronnie told us that during World War II, British troops used to smash their empty beer bottles on the coast. The sea and the sand worked together to soften the sharp shards into glimmering bits of glass.
The rain sent us running back to the boat to get dressed as we were personally invited to dine at the Captain's table. With our colleague, Kelsey Castanon's birthday on the horizon, Captain Dmitris Kafetzis and the crew had a cake brought out to celebrate! We spent the rest of the night celebrating with karaoke and plenty of cocktails.
Our last morning was slow to start, but with blue skies and a flight in our future, we couldn't stay in bed for long. Ali Carter, Holly Dawsey and I explored the docks and enjoyed the sunshine.
You didn't think we were going to leave the island empty handed, did you?
It was so hard to leave the boat behind to head home! I snapped as many pictures of the water as I could. Needless to say, brunches and another voyage are already in the works!
There's a certain decadence associated with cruises: beautiful destinations, lengthy voyages, and endless buffets. It's easy to overindulge in certain aspects, but spa authority Canyon Ranch has partnered with Celebrity Cruises to bring everything into balance. Luckily, they also brought me along for the ride.Read More ↓
