The Best Actress in a Comedy nominees pulled a Miss America move on the Emmy stage. Each came running up to the stage as they were announced. We're sure this was orchestrated by the hilarious Amy Poehler, who has pulled similar pranks during the Emmys in the past.
The star-studded Emmy Awards promised to be an extremely entertaining night, and they did not disappoint. The show was filled with hilarious scenes, touching speeches and style to talk about for days. We celebrate the ten best moments of TV's biggest night.
The Emmys third female host ever made a huge impression Sunday night by showing off her TV knowledge by making fun of popular shows and celebrities. Her opening song was chock-full of TV references but her best moment came from a parody of Jersey Shore.
Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are late-night talk show rivals, but the two came together to try and present Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Unfortunately for them but fortunately for us, their attempt at being civil went horribly wrong as they tackled each other to the ground.
Kyle Chandler's surprise win was a highlight of the night as Friday Night Lights has been ignored at the awards year after year. Everyone could tell what a surprise it was for him as well as he gave a jumbled, yet extremely endearing acceptance speech.
Following the unexpected Best Actress moment was the unexpected win of Mike and Molly's Melissa McCarthy. As her name was announced, the other nominees gave her flowers and a tiara. She then walked to the stage shocked and entertained, giving an adorable acceptance speech.
Controversial funnyman Ricky Gervais was brought in via satellite to the Emmy stage and even without his physical presence, he made a lasting impression. Saying he was banned from American soil during award shows, he gave a speech that was (jokingly) "censored" by the network.
Jane Lynch is right- if you know who these guys are, you're probably young, or just watch a lot of Saturday Night Live. Led by SNL star Andy Samberg, the boys performed their Emmy-nominated raps with tons of guest stars like Michael Bolton and Ed Helms.
Finally Ty Burrell gets some awards love! While we were so excited about his win, his acceptance speech reduced us to tears- of laughter. Burrell talked about how his father would be proud of him completely but would be concerned about his son's need for makeup on TV.
If you thought The Office could no longer be funny without Steve Carrell, you're not alone. But this Emmy spoof that featured TV characters from other shows in Dundler Miflin was completely hilarious, right down to the Two and a Half Men joke with Ashton Kutcher. It gives us hope that the show will have a fresh new start even without their fearless leader.
Modern Family creator Steven Levitan has turned his family's experiences into comedy gold. But when he told viewers that a particularly embarrassing sexual episode was also from real life, his wife gave a classic look of confused and amusement. He went on to thank his "semi-satisfied wife." It was the perfect blend of awkward, comedic genius.
