Rihanna has a ribcage tattoo in Arabic which reads: “Al Hurria fi Al Maseeh” meaning “Freedom in God.”
Rihanna's homage to ancient Egyptian includes the goddess Isis on her chest and Queen Nefertiti on her side.
Riri is a fan of the finger tats: she has "love" tattooed on her finger as well as "Shhh...".
Rihanna's first tattoo was done in 2006; it's a musical note on her foot. She followed up with another foot tattoo in 2008, a girly skull tattoo. This skull is one of her only color tattoos.
You might remember the controversial gun tattoo Rihanna added during the midst of her Chris Brown drama. The singer added a gun-shaped falcon tattoo to her ankle in June 2012.
Rihanna has the Tibetal word for "lover" tattooed on her behind.
The Barbados babe has her astrological sign, Pisces, behind her ear. This tattoo was done in Tokyo around 2006. The singer also has a star tattoo in her left ear, and more stars down the back of her neck.
Blink and you might miss it: Rihanna has a tiny cross tattooed on her collarbone. She also has "Rebelle Fleur", French for "rebellious flower" tatted on her neck.
Talk about loving your BFF: Riri has her best friend Melissa Forde's birthday tattooed in Roman numerals on her left shoulder. On her other shoulder, the singer has a tat that reads "Never a Failure, Always a Lesson"
The singer's traditional Maori tattoo was created with a chisel and mallet. Ouch! After deciding she wasn't satisfied, she covered it up with a henna style tattoo.
While on tour in New Zealand, Rihanna had a tribal tattoo added to her right hand.
According to PopStar Tats: "This sanskrit prayer tattoo is from the Sanatana Dharma Bhagavad Gita 10.4-5 and is supposed to say 'forgiveness, honesty, suppression, and control' but was apparently misspelled. The translation of her tattoo actually reads: 'long suffering, truthfulness, self-restraint, inward calm, fear and fearlessness' and is missing the rest of the prayer which includes 'pleasure, pain, birth, death.'"
Riri's newest ink is a large cross extending from the inside of her wrist. She visited her favorite tattoo artist, Bang Bang, to get this tat after a Brooklyn Nets vs Miami Heat basketball game in January of this year.
