Smart Style: How to Wear a Jumpsuit

By  February 04, 2013

Pulling off a dressed up jumpsuit isn’t the easiest of fashion feats, but when styled correctly, the result is worth the time spent getting it right. Jennifer Lawrence attended the Santa Barbara Film Festival wearing a gorgeous Stella McCartney navy blue and black strapless onesie, inspiring us to run through the rules of nailing the look just like she did. It’s important to choose a a style that fits, meaning it’s worth spending the extra cash to get your jumpsuit tailored to your body. A fit that’s too baggy or too tight is ultra unflattering; make sure the bosom through the waist hugs your top snuggly and that the legs have a bit of extra room but come back to the ankle for a slimming effect. Chic heels like Jennifer’s will add to the sleek silhouette. Her classic black pumps are the way to go as the jumpsuit should act as your standout pieces without the need for over the top footwear. Keep jewelry basic too as to not over-do the already untraditional getup. Jennifer went with a cool cocktail ring, and we like her style. Sultry makeup and hair, in loose, sexy waves like the “Hunger Games” starlet’s, or a top knot to keep things long and lean, are the perfect finishing touches.
