Before she was busy writing books, showing up to speaking engagements and running Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoruso was a vintage auteur with a knack for thrift shopping. It all stemmed from her eBay store, Nasty Gal Vintage, which she developed into a $100 million+ fashion empire. With her recent success (and, let’s face it, explosion into the fashion industry), Amoruso launched the #GIRLBOSS Foundation in conjunction with her first book, #GIRLBOSS.
To kick off #GIRLBOSS Foundation’s launch, Amoruso is reviving Nasty Gal Vintage (for 10 days only!) with more than 30 pieces from her personal vintage collection. The handpicked collection includes labels like Alaia, Versace, Comme des Garcons, East West Musical Instruments, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hermes, Moschino and Karl Lagerfeld. The shop opens on May 19, and there will even be the opportunity to bid on a lunch date with Amoruso herself, complete with a guided tour of Nasty Gal’s LA headquarters. The foundation itself aims to “provide women in the worlds of design, fashion, music and the arts with financial endowments to achieve their goals.” In keeping in line with Nasty Gal’s motto, grants will be awarded to “the next generation of female visionaries, troublemakers and entrepreneurs.” C’est la Nasty Gal.
