What happens when one of film’s most-celebrated directors sits down with hip-hop’s most polarizing figures? The best interview of all time. Steve McQueen sat down with Kanye West for Interview’s newest issue, where the latter explains that acting like a 3-year-old brings forth his best art, how a near-fatal car accident in 2002 impacted his concept of time, and why the video for “Bound 2” “disrespects” all the rules. There are two things—other than the actual game—that draw us in to the Super Bowl each and every year. One: the halftime show. Two: the over-the-top Super Bowl ads. This year’s round is taking a turn from game-day campaigns of yesteryear with more celebrity cameos, including Scarlett Johansson for Sodastream, The Muppets for Toyota, Stephen Colbert for Wonderful Pistachios, and, a favorite, the cast of Full House for Oikos yogurt. The cost of airing one of these 30-second spots come February 2nd?! A record $4 million. [Variety]

Could David O. Russell be up for an Emmy next? The American Hustle director is headed to ABC with a straight-to-series drama about “an upstairs/downstairs soap set at a private country club.” He’s partnering with Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant for the soap. [Deadline]
