Star Scoop: Glamour’s Women of the Year 2012, Jimmy Kimmel Interviews David Letterman, Oprah Joins Huffington Post

Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year 2012 list has been revealed. Notables honored this year include teen dream Selena Gomez, lauded photographer Annie Leibovitz, philanthropic filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and some of our favorites from Team U.S.A. Jimmy Kimmel brought a special guest to Brooklyn Halloween night: David Letterman. Kimmel’s late-night show (temporarily) relocated from its Manhattan studios in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, where the host’s idol, Letterman, stopped by for some after-hours banter. The two hosts will soon be battling it out though: both will air at 11:35 p.m. along with The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  [E! Online]

There’s no stopping Oprah Winfrey or Arianna Huffington. And now, the two media mavens have joined forces to launch HuffPost OWN. Winfrey’s network, OWN, will now have a channel at Huffington Post that will focus on lifestyle, inspiration, and wellbeing. [Yahoo News]

Jodie Foster’s work in film, television, and entertainment has earned her a lifetime achievement Cecil B. DeMille award from the Golden Globes. Best known for her Oscar and Globes-winning roles in The Accused and Silence of the Lambs, Foster has appeared in over 40 films, produced seven titles, and directed four. This latest honor puts her in the ranks of fellow winners Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, and Barbara Streisand. [Washington Post]

The Hunger Games finale will be directed by its current Catching Fire director, Francis Lawrence. Lionsgate tweeted the news today, confirming that parts one and two of Mockingjay will be under Lawrence’s direction, to be released in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
