Although Beyoncé has cited Prince as one of her many musical influences, this summer, the “Purple Rain” originator may be following in Mrs. Carter’s footsteps. The seven-time Grammy winner has been thrown into a pool of potential Glastonbury headliners along with Rihanna, the Arctic Monkeys, and Rolling Stones (which has since been denied). Prince was first linked to the gig in 2011 but it was a newly-pregnant Beyoncé who brightened up the grey festival weather. [Huffington Post UK]

Someone we won’t be seeing much of this summer is The Daily Show host Jon Stewart. The political satirist is leaving the show… temporarily. America’s favorite primetime serial killer is getting the axe. Showtime hit  Dexter will be cancelled after its eighth season airs this June. Les Moonves, CEO of Showtime’s parent company CBS, announced in a press conference that the network will be exploring new original programming options with Donovan. Enough with the boy crazy talk, ok?! Taylor Swift addresses her past loves and famous ex-boyfriends in the April issue of Vanity Fair and calls out tabloids that sell gossip at her personal expense. “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her…that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist,” Swift said in the exclusive. Carly Rae Jepsen is taking a stand for LGBT rights by officially pulling out of the Boy Scouts of America’s 2013 National Scouting Jamboree. The multi-million member group bans openly gay scouts and troupe leaders, prompting the “Call Me Maybe” star’s exit from the annual concert. Pop-rock band Train may also cancel its performance after releasing this statement: “Train strongly opposes any kind of policy that questions the equality of any American citizen… We look forward to participating in the Jamboree this summer, as long as they make the right decision before then.” [USA Today]
