While we still can’t get over Carrie Underwood’s 12-time outfit change at this year’s Country Music Awards, it’s worth noting her fellow country crooners (and couple!) who won big at this year’s ceremony. Among the honorees were Blake Shelton for Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, his wife Miranda Lambert for Female Vocalist of the Year, and aptly so, a Song of the Year win for both for their duet, “Over You.” How cute! On Halloween, we gave you the scoop on Disney’s new role in Star Wars: Episode VII, and now we’ve come to find out that creator George Lucas will not produce or direct the upcoming installment. According to E!, the latest addition to the Star Wars franchise will be based off books from the “Thrawn Trilogy,” which chronicles what happens after Return of the Jedi rebel victories. [E! Online]

Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, and Khloe Kardashian-Odom finally went live on X-Factor Wednesday night, a day early than scheduled. It was the Kardashian sister’s first time emceeing the show live alongside Mario Lopez, and according to critics, the reality star was a hosting hit. [New York Daily News]

Celebrities like Mary J. Blige and Bruce Springsteen aren’t the only ones who are investing their time and talents to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Media companies are stepping up to the plate, too. The latest company to join in on the relief efforts is Viacom. The mass media conglomerate over MTV, VH1, CMT, and Paramount donated $1 million to the cause: half went to the Mayor’s Fund for NYC and the other $500,000 will be divvied up to organizations in Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey and Westchester County. George Clooney’s presidential ties outlive  his endorsements for Barack Obama. The Monuments of Men director just so happens to be a distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln. Ancestry.com found the familial link, donning Clooney as Honest Abe’s “half-first cousin, five times removed.” [Yahoo News]

Official movie posters of the Christmas Day mega-movie have been released with Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Seyfried, and Eddie Redmayne in full-on 19th century French garb.
