It’s no secret that Starbucks and fashion go together like peanut butter and jelly or, more appropriately, coffee and milk.
So partnerships like Alice + Olivia or Charlotte Ronson for Starbucks are sort of kismet. In a continuation of perfection, Starbucks just announced it’s fifth collaboration. This time around, it’s an ideal pairing with Band of Outsiders, on a brand new mug that drops in stores tomorrow.
When Scott Sternberg, founder and creative director of Band of Outsiders, was approached by CFDA CEO Steven Kolb regarding the opportunity, he jumped at the change. ”The coffee drink you choose — drip, espresso or a latte — is a form of style and self-expression just as important as what you choose to put on in the morning,” he said.
His jolt comes in the form of an iced venti redeye, unsweetened, but regardless of the type of liquid, the design will appeal to all. Each of the mugs feature black or multicolor paint dripping down Starbuck’s signature coffee cups, paying homage to Sternberg’s name for coffee – “drip.”
The two limited-edition ceramic mugs will retail for $14.95 in the U.S., and $16.95 in Canada.
