Stars Support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
By Valis Vicenty
June 13, 2011
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation has long been a cause close to Hollywood’s heart. Stars like Ashlee Simpson, Minnie Driver,Ashley Tisdale, Breckin Meyer, and Christina Milian stepped out this Sunday to attend the organization’s 22nd Annual A Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival at the Veteran Administration Lawn in Los Angeles. The carnival and picnic benefited the foundation, which fights the disease worldwide through advocacy, prevention, care, and treatment programs. Some celebrities volunteered as “heroes” to work the carnival game booths, while other guests tasted treats from L.A. eateries like Olive & Thyme, Toscana, Covell, AKASHA and Drago. Radio Disney’s “N.B.T.” winner Kicking Daises hit the stage for a full concert to close out the day on a high note. The entire event raised approximately $1.5 million for the foundation’s fight to create a generation free of HIV.
