• On the inspiration behind her Spring 2017 collection: "This is a very special collection for me because it also marks ten years of me showing in New York Fashion Week. For me, it’s somewhat of a milestone, an anniversary. I wanted to look back at what my favorite pieces of the last ten years were and also really look forward."

  • On the collection's aesthetic: "It is a very refined take on bohemian dressing. I think we ended up arriving at a look with a very earthy, ethereal elegance to it. The pieces are very relaxed, and I’m showing everything with flat shoes and sandals, which is how I personally love to dress on a daily basis. And I think that relaxed, effortless attitude really highlights the beauty of the clothes."

  • On the collection's standouts: "There are definitely pieces you can toss on and go. What was so fun when we were organizing the show was that, when the models would come in for their fittings, they would all end up twirling! There are dresses that make you want to twirl. I can see that [the collection] kind of brings out that lightness we all have within us, and I’m very happy with it."

  • On how she's celebrating 10 years at NYFW: "There are lots of fun collaborations, and you’ll see three of them on the runway today. The first is with denim brand Parker Smith. We’ve collaborated on a denim capsule, and several of those pieces will be on the runway—one being a jumpsuit and also a few pairs of jeans, which pair beautifully with the blouses and the silks within my own collection.…"

  • "…I’ve also collaborated with the jewelry brand Unearthen on several quartz crystal pieces, including a pendant necklace, earrings, and cocktail rings—so you’ll see those trickled in. And we’ve collaborated with the shoe brand Tkees on some special-edition runway shoes. What’s very fun is that the accessories are see-now-buy-now. They’ll be available tomorrow on my website."

  • On what she's learned in the last 10 years: "One show is not going to make or break everything, and it’s all about perseverance. Sometimes it looks like stars are made overnight, but I don’t think they are. I think it’s about sticking to your vision and building, no matter which way the wind is turning in terms of the trends of the moment. The best thing is for people to be true to themselves."

  • On plans for the next 10 years: "I’m very much in expansion mode. Just a week ago, I launched my first home collection. It’s also a collaboration with a brand called Fragments Identity, and it’s for sale now on my website—so that’s my first entrée into home. And now we are adding shoes and jewelry, and denim. So I plan to keep going in that direction and expanding my vision through my brand."
