• Take the time to cook yourself a beautiful and wholesome dinner. While you're at it, make enough to pack for lunch the next day. That way, you will not be throwing together a quick lunch in the morning or, even worse, picking up something unhealthy on your way to work. Cooking is great therapy and this strategy allows you to enjoy your evenings in the kitchen and save some precious time in the AM.

  • Overnight oats make for an easy, healthy, and filling breakfast in the morning. They are easy to make and easy to pack for your commute to work. Take a couple minutes to make a batch the night before and you will thanking yourself in the morning!

  • Get to bed early! The best way to promote a lack of productivity is to not get enough sleep. Get your body in a routine of getting to sleep early, regardless of your workload, and reap the benefits in the morning when you feel refreshed and ready to conquer your day.

  • One of the best ways to prepare for the next day is to take a couple minutes to draft your to-do list for tomorrow. When you draft your priorities, you can wake up with a sense of where to start and what is on your plate. It makes starting the day far less hectic. I even try to draft time blocks for when I want to accomplish my tasks. This trick is particularly helpful in planning your workouts.

  • Keep your blinds open before getting into bed. That way, you can wake up with natural light. The light allows your body to wake up more naturally and not be jerked out of sleep by your alarm. The calm of this process is less shocking to your system and allows you to feel more rested.

  • Take an extra second and place your phone away from your bed the night before. That way, you will not be tempted to turn over and grab your phone first thing in the morning. The distance from plugging in immediately will make your mornings much more relaxing. Try placing it across the room or even in another room. Remember alarm clocks? Purchase one if you don't want to miss your phone alarm.

  • Break a sweat after work! It will allow you to unplug from a long day of working and exhaust your body for a better night's sleep. Pack your gym clothes so you can swing by the gym after leaving the office. Trust me, your body and mind will thank you. And you will feel amazing in the morning.
