Put on your social media hat. Carolina Herrera is launching a social media contest this Sunday, September 1st, one that will draw attention to her bridal line.
“It’s going to like Project Runway—but in secret,” the designer said of her new initiative, which will choose a winner on Pinterest. The contest is a collaboration between Town & Country magazine and will ask brides-to-be to submit boards on Pinterest, including all wedding inspirations, from flowers to venues, table decors, and invites, through December 15th, Women’s Wear Daily is reporting. They also can participate on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #carolinaherrerainspiredbride. A smart move on the House of Herrera’s part considering all the time we spend on Pinterest planning our wedding and we aren’t getting married.
“We want to play into the process, and they need time to make up their minds,” the Herrera told WWD. “For a bride, Pinterest is very important. Brides are sometimes confused at the beginning, and Pinterest helps. Everything is instantly there.”
To be considered the must wear one of the designer’s bridal pieces down the aisle. The winner will be personally selected by the designer and Town & Country’s editor-in-chief and unveiled on the brand’s blog on the most romantic day of the commercial year, Valentine’s Day, as well as be photographed for Town & Country. The bride-to-be will be invited into the designer’s showroom for her final dress fitting.
Talk about making every bride’s dream come true!
