Style Scoop: Anna Wintour Gets Glamour-ous, Cool Like Chanel, Versace Sells Out

First, it was Lucky. Then came TravelerNow, Condé Nast’s artistic director Anna Wintour has her sights set on Glamour magazine. According to the New York Times “a creative director at [a competing company] was approached about working in a similar role for Glamour, and told that the post would report to Ms. Wintour, not Cindi Leive, the magazine’s editor.” [The Cut]

Pop quiz: What’s cooler than cool? No, it isn’t ice cold… it’s Chanel. The Karl Lagerfeld label was crowned the coolest fashion brand according to the UK’s annual CoolBrands list. Prada came in at a close second with Alexander McQueen rounding out the top three. [Vogue UK]

Versace is headed east. The label announced that it is searching for a minority shareholder whose investment will help the company expand overseas and in Asia. A deal could close as early as October and set the value of the brand at $1.62 billion. [Fashionista]

One for the books: Iceberg made history today by appointing Alexis Martial—a Givenchy and Paco Rabanne alum— as the first creative director of its women’s line. “We live in a fast-changing period, that’s why I decided to tap a new designer,” Paolo Gerani, CEO of Iceberg’s Gilmar Group, said. “Alexis is young and he looks at the future with a contemporary and chic eye.” [WWD]
