Style Scoop: Berenice Marlohe Falls for Escada, Rent Bibhu Mohapatra’s Runway, YSL Heads East

Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe is trading in her post as a stealthy vixen for a design title with Escada credentials to boot. The Skyfall actress teamed up with the German brand to create a printed caftan whose proceeds will go to Lotus Outreach International to benefit women and children in Cambodia and India. [Telegraph]

In a followup to its Donna Karan capsule collection, first introduced in February, Rent the Runway has called on Bibhu Mohapatra to bring his ornate designs to the site. Mohapatra traveled to his native India to create looks that looks “uniquely fusing the [Art] Deco movement with traditional Indian sensibility.” One of his exotic designs can be yours—to rent—for $200-$400. A name change isn’t going to keep the house formerly known as Yves Saint Laurent from moving ahead—or should we say, east? Now Saint Laurent, the Hedi Slimane-helmed label is in talks with Dubai’s Al Tayer Insignia, which will allow the French brand to set up shop in the United Arab Emirates. [WWD]
