Style Scoop: Eddie Borgo’s New Roitfeld Face, Peter Lindbergh Captures CFDA, Vivienne Westwood Heads Poetry Project

Carine Roitfeld isn’t the only campaign star in her clan. Her daughter (and newly-minted motherhood bloggerJulia Restoin Roitfeld will be spending more time in front of the camera these days as the new face of jewelry line Eddie Borgo. This isn’t the first major campaign the younger Roitfeld has carried; she boasts Tom Ford Fragrance, Kiki de Montparnasse, and Lancôme on her resume. [Grazia Daily]

The 2013 CFDA Awards ceremony is just four days away, and with each passing minute the style council drops jewels on the main event. Like how famed photographer Peter Lindbergh is behind this year’s big CFDA book! The man responsible for this iconic photo of Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and co., has lensed portraits for this year’s ceremony, including black-and-white shots of honorees Vera Wang, Riccardo Tisci, and Oscar de la Renta. Although books only go out to attendees, fans can get close to the show from home; model Kiara Kabukuru will be hosting a digital broadcast of red-carpet arrivals while Style.com will air the awards a day later on June 4 at 10:00 a.m. [Style.com]

Prada isn’t the only fashion authority calling creatives to pen their thoughts. Vivienne Westwood is heading a poetry contest to raise environmental awareness as part of her Climate Revolution campaign. The initiative, which will be documented on film, will award five poets aged 17-21 with a mentorship through a series of master writing classes. Who are fashion’s fastest rising stars? WWD has compiled its annual Ten of Tomorrow list highlighting some of the top talents in the industry. The Los Angeles Fashion Council is taking a cue from open mic night. The organization is partnering with Couture Los Angeles nightclub for an open, monthly showcase of rising designers in the city. Winners of each show will convene for a final bout on September 28 where a sole victor will be recruited to show his or her collection during LAFW’s Spring 2014 collections. [L.A. Times]

Where would the world be without Zara? Luckily, fashionistas who frequent downtown Los Angeles won’t have to answer that question. The Spanish retailer has leased a 27,000-square-foot space in the city’s FIGat7th shopping center which will open next spring. “Our flagship store at FIGat7th is at the epicenter of a vibrant urban culture that’s steeped in fashion, style, art, cuisine, and entertainment of all kinds,” a brand rep said. “Zara’s fashions and interiors will make a definitive contribution in moving this progressive culture forward.” [Racked]

H&M CEO Karl-Johan Persson is eyeing a “sound and healthy” look for models who rep the brand. “We want to show diversity in our advertising and not give people the impression that girls have to look a particular way,” he said of the company’s pledge. “By and large, I think we’ve succeeded: we’ve many different kinds of models from different ethnic backgrounds.
