Playboy isn’t the only men’s magazine getting a piece of Kate Moss. The Versace vixen is Esquire UK‘s “Made in Britain” cover star, shot by Craig McDean in a dazzling—and daring—sheer leotard. The capture marks the first time in 17 years that Moss has covered a men’s glossy; the first was in 1993 for Esquire UK, and her second came three years later for the now-defunct Arena magazine. [Esquire UK]

In another cover coup, Britney Spears collaborator Katy Perry has taken over ELLE UK for summer’s final month. Judging from Dolce & Gabbana-laced cover, the raven-haired star will be opening up about a rumored relationship with Robert Pattinson, and the real thing with Russell Brand and current beau John Mayer. Say it ain’t so! NBC has cancelled Fashion Star after a two-season run. Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, and John Varvatos served as mentors on the show that pitted budding designers against one another for the chance to have their work sold in H&M, Express, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. The cut comes after a season of low ratings for NBC’s unscripted offerings, including a dip in viewership on America’s Got Talent and The Celebrity Apprentice. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Reed Krakoff is buying back Reed Krakoff. The Coach creative director, who’s stepping down from his post in 2014, is making arrangements to purchase his namesake label from the luxury goods company. The news comes as Coach cut 200 jobs from its company this week according to chairman and CEO Lew Frankfort. [WWD]

All you J. Crew customers who reside stateside, be grateful. According to the Sunday Times, the Jenna Lyons-led brand charges UK customers nearly 40 percent more for its merchandise. The launch of Penelope Cruz‘s L’Agent diffusion line with Agent Provocateur is drawing nigh, and what better way for the actress to celebrate the occasion than with film? Cruz, who is designing the range with her expectant sister Mónica Cruz, makes her directorial debut with a L’Agent clip which will debut this week. Her hubby Javier Bardem will appear in the short, alongside a bevy of models and standout Irina Shayk.“They gave me all the freedom and I was able to tell the story I wanted to tell. Digital diva Britt Aboutaleb has been tapped as the editorial director of the standalone site, which launched from WWW’s beauty vertical. Though the debut adds to the saturated world of makeup junkie, hair haven, skincare secret dotcoms, Aboutaleb says this one is different from the rest. “There are tons of great beauty blogs out there and a few super niche sites and Byrdie sits somewhere in between them—it’s glossy, with magazine-like layouts and expert advice—but it’s still fun and accessible,” she said. “That’s the best thing about beauty—it’s a conversation everyone can take part in and something anyone can get excited about.” [Fashionista]
