When he’s not busy designing creations for his namesake lines, holding down the helm of Louis Vuitton, or giving Coca-Cola cans a dash of chic, Marc Jacobs is… acting? Fans of the celebrated designer can now see another side of Jacobs as he makes his film debut in Henry Alex Rubin‘s “Disconnect,” a riveting thriller about “ordinary people trying to connect in today’s wired world.” Jason Bateman, Frank Grillo, Paula Patton, Alexander Skarsgard, and Max Thieriot are top billed for the April 12 release. Heidi Klum is no stranger when it comes to reality competition series, thanks to her eleven seasons as the host of “Project Runway.” And she won’t be ending her television tenure anytime soon. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel is the newest judge on “America’s Got Talent.” She’ll join the panel on the show’s next season alongside Howard Stern, Howie Mantel, and Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls. [GlamBuzz]

Condé Nast International (CNI) is putting its money to use on the web, with luxury e-commerce site FarFetch. The publishing house invested $20 million into the dotcom retailer, which provides its visitors with pieces from high-end boutiques from designers like Preen, The Row, Versace, and more. CNI is joined by Advent Venture Partners, Index Ventures and e.ventures in the FarFetch funding move. [WWD]

Gucci’s Frida Giannini is bringing home baby! The house’s creative director and her husband, Patrizio di Marco, announced that their first child, Greta, has been born. According to a Gucci brand rep, “both mother and baby are doing well.” [Grazia Daily]

The Diesel x EDUN range has landed, offering wares manufactured exclusively in Africa with materials from the Conservation Cotton Initiative in Africa. Speaking of collaborations with an African flare, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) has unveiled its third limited-edition shoe with TOMS today. The orange Outreach Classics boast an embroidered sun with CTAOP’s motto, “Look Within. Think Beyond. YSL, now regarded as Saint Laurent Paris, is moving west. The house’s Parisian ateliers will now call L’Hôtel de Sénecterre in the city’s Left Bank home. Creative director Hedi Slimane will still work primarily out of Los Angeles, where the brand’s main design studio is based. [WWD]
