Tell us about your first season backstage.

My first season was Sept. 2001 in nyc. I was so excited to get Marc Jacobs show being brand new face but then Sept.11th happened and the show got canceled. I was so heartbroken because modeling for Marc was my dream. I didn’t speak a word of English and remember being lined up to go on a catwalk and then hearing the news about the twin towers. Then it was a blur, people running and screaming all over the place. It was definitely a day we will always remember forever.

What’s your secret to the perfect pose?

My secret to a perfect pose is inside confidence, feeling comfortable in my body and trying to get outside of a safe comfort zone

How do you occupy your time when you’re in hair and makeup?

I talk with my family in Russia and deal with business emails. But I’ve been working with most hair and make-up people for the last 11 years so we just catch up on life and have fun.
