Tortoise-shell sunglasses are my favorite frames for spring and summer. They’re effortlessly chic and range in all sizes, shapes and shades of beige-to-brown. This makes them ideal for pairing with, oh, anything in your closet.
My first (and only) Prada pair served as my gateway to the tortoise-shell trend. I’ve been continually surprised at their versatility and I love the made-you-do-a-double-take intrigue they add to an otherwise ordinary look. When I wear my tortoise-shell sunglasses, I typically keep the rest of my look laid-back and muted with neutral tones. They’ve been an integral component of my spring uniform as of late—along with white denim, a light jacket and walkable wedges. If you’re worried about donning too lackluster an ensemble, though, mix it up by layering different textures or opt to add a pop of color.
Using three of my current favorite tortoise-shell frames as inspiration—from River Island, Karen Kane and Jeepers Peepers, respectively – here’s a few ways I’d suggest styling a cute spring outfit around your sunnies:
Trust me, these fashion-forward frames are sure to become your newest style staple!
