Sweat It Out. Literally.

These days, we’re pretty much obsessed with skincare products, and we’re forever in a cycle of cleansing, toning, moisturizing, exfoliating, spot treating, and more. But what if there was a way to unclog our pores and prevent acne without slopping a bunch of stuff on our faces twice a day? Chances are you already partake in the activity—and if you don’t, here’s even more of an incentive to start now!

Exercise isn’t just for improving your physical health, shedding a few pounds, or toning up. On top of all those things, working out benefits our skin’s appearance! The ultimate all-natural skincare process works in a number of ways:

1. Sweat. You may not think you look good when there’s sweat pouring down your face during a workout, but it’s working to purge toxins from your body—the same toxins that clog pores and cause blemishes. But remember to always wash those toxins off your skin with a post-workout shower!

2. Oxygen and Blood Flow. When you exercise, you improve your body’s blood flow, which then carries more oxygen to your skin. This boost to the skin cells brings nutrients necessary for healthy skin.

3. De-Stressing. Stress can trigger an increase of psoriasis, which is known to boost hormone production and decrease your body’s healing ability. As a result, oftentimes if you stress, your skin breaks out. Exercise relieves stress, thus reducing the chance of stress-induced blemishes!

We don’t plan on dropping all of our skincare products any time soon, but if we keep (or start) exercising, maybe we won’t need all of those products nearly as much!
