Take a Walk on the Wild Side With Animal Print
By Katherine Fotinos
January 16, 2013
Although the trend didn’t shine at 2013 Spring Fashion week the way ruffled garbs and striped ensembles did, animal print still managed to remain relevant, appearing on the runways of MaxMara and Stella McCartney. MaxMara worked the jungle style theme with oversized beige utility inspired shirts and satin brown rompers, tiger patterned pencil skirts, and leopard print boxy tops. Each look was completed with a heat fighting fashion turban headband for proper safari style. In usual MaxMara fashion, the Italian clothing line once again exuded luxury yet wearability. Stella McCartney’s inclusion of animal prints in her Spring runway show was downplayed, though a snow leopard print worked its way onto a chic strapless one-sie as well as some loose trousers (can we get that pattern on a Falabella bag, Stella?). Always sending a fun and youthful line down the runway, the cheeky leopard fit in nicely. For those looking to add some designer animal print pieces to their lives, look no further than Style.com’s roundup of the most sought after safari inspired clothes and accessories available for purchase now. From giraffe hide patterned pouches by Phillip Lim to Issa’s zebra knit dress, your wardrobe’s about to get a little wild.
