Textured Nails. Will You Try This Trend?

By  May 08, 2013

Every year when summer comes around it’s like clockwork – watch out, here comes a hot new nail trend or nail polish variety that everyone who’s cool absolutely has to have on their fingertips while it’s the hot new thing. Some of the trends stick around longer then a season. Some are in and out just as fast as it takes to do a polish change. The caviar nail. The BlackBerry bling nail (which then became the “party” or “statement” nail). Magnetic nail polish. How many of you still have a bottle of crackle nail polish in your collection? This season’s first candidate for hot new nail trend of the summer comes from Zoya. I used to say I had a textured manicure if I dinged my nail polish after leaving the salon — and now it’s a thing!

Zoya’s Pixiedust nail polish is going to be hot for summer 2013. It’s textured and matte, sparkly and unique. According to nail polish blogger All Lacquered Up, the texture is “sweet and sugary.” Check out her post for swatches to see what that means! These new summer Pixiedust colors are metallic, and they’re meant to be worn matte. The texture helps to make Pixiedust nail polish long wearing, which is great for summertime, pedicures and flip-flops. And this nail polish lets you choose your adventure – if textured or matte is not your thing, you can apply a glossy topcoat. A little gloss accentuates the pigments and sparkle, giving you a shiny lacquered manicure that’ll last longer.

Are you up for the new nail trend? Or do you predict that your textured nail polish will find it home next to your crackle nail polish at the end of the season?
