“I love this collection so much it hurts,” exclaimed Jason Wu as editors and beauty influencers toasted his newest creative endeavor on Wednesday night at Indochine. With a ringing endorsement such as that, it’s impossible not to fall in love with him … and his newest project.
In collaboration with Lancome, Wu officially launched the first installment of his collection with the beauty brand—a line of nail, eye, and lip options for Fall 2013. As hinted at during his runway show in February, Wu dreamt up a line that bridges modern day femininity with allure and power. Given his talent as a designer, it’s hardly surprising that he’d excel in the beauty world, but as we delved into his passion for this specific project, the collaboration made perfect sense.
“I always wanted to meet Kevin Aucoin, but he died right before I moved to New York,” said Wu. “I have his Making Faces on my coffee table. Martha Stewart as Veronica Lake is the power of makeup.”
