There was no shortage of delicious-smelling scents along the red carpet for The Fragrance Foundation’s 40th Anniversary of the Fifi Awards. The event hosted by Jane Lynch brought out a slew of celebrities like Michelle Monaghan, Carol Alt, Nicole Richie, Mariska Hargitay, Martha Stewart, Josh Groban, Jessica Stam, and Chaka Khan, who strolled the red carpet sporting – besides elegant gowns and suits – healthy doses of their favorite fragrances. The ceremony, held at New York’s Lincoln Center, honored the year’s best-smelling scents as well as a few of the fragrance world’s most celebrated figures.Evelyn Lauder, the 2006 Fifi Hall of Fame Recipient, was honored with a Legacy of Excellence Tribute, and Coco Chanel received this year’s Hall of Fame award. The Fragrance Foundation also named Justin Bieber the Fragrance Celebrity of the Year for his enormous success in launching his first fragrance, “Someday.” Other winners included Tom Ford Violet Blonde (for women) and Gucci Guilty Pour Homme (for men) for Luxe Fragrance of the Year. Consumers’ Choice winners were Victoria’s Secret Angel (for women) and Bath & Body Works Signature Collection for Men Classic. And inducted into the Fragrance Hall of Fame were Hermes 24 Faubourg (for women) and Acqua di Gio (for men). Whether the winning fragrances had notes of vanilla, hints of citrus, or musky undertones, their creators can probably all agree that the smell of success itself is pretty sweet.
