The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Heads to H&M

To coincide with the release of the English language film version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the film’s costume designer Trish Summerville has created an exclusive collection for H&M inspired by the edgy character of Lisbeth Salander. Salander’s survivalist style in the book and film are translated in the form of leather jackets, torn jeans, and slouchy hoodies in dark colors. Hand-painted t-shirts with scrolled lettering provide a splash of color while high-top sneakers,  boots, battered backpacks and tribal earrings complete the tough urban look Salander employed as her armor against the world. Summerville was pleased about transforming the gritty costumes into pieces women could incorporate into their own wardrobe.

“I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I’m pleased with the result!” said Summerville. “My goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style.”

The collection will be available December 14th at 175 H&M stores worldwide.
