With clothes, hotels, and more already on his resume, Karl Lagerfeld is turning his attention to beauty once again with his own fragrance line.

Along with his skills as a designer and photographer, the Kaiser also has a nose for fragrance, spraying different scents on his linens, curtains and clothes. It helped him to make quick and easy decisions on the direction of the new perfumes, avoiding what he called a “down-to-earth garden, flowery hothouse mood.” He told Women’s Wear Daily, “I don’t believe in projects that come together too slowly; having too much time is very bad. It’s like cooking: Eat it when it’s hot.”

The result was a women’s scent of peach, lemon, plumeria, rose, magnolia, musks, and woods while the men’s bottled notes of lavender, mandarin zest, apple, violet leaves, amber, and sandalwood. Though they don’t hit stores until late this month, he’s already started spritzing his signature scent. “The men’s scent is really 100 percent what I’m using for the moment,” Lagerfeld shared. “This I like even better when it’s a little dried down.”

This is far from Uncle Karl’s first turn in the beauty game, as he not only had 3 scents with Coty that fell by the wayside but also  collaborated with Shu Uemura and Sephora on cosmetic capsule collection!

To celebrate the launch, geek chic fashionistas will be happy to find Lagerfeld-specific emoticons available for iPhone and Androids, as the scents exclusively hit Macy’s shelves starting next week. Sorry emjois, you’ve just been replaced!
