Goodbye Khroma, hello Kardashian! The eldest Kardashian sisters have renamed their beauty line that launched in October 2012.
The name change was prompted by a dispute between the family’s license holder, Boldface and Lee Tillet Inc. that sells Kroma Makeup. Kroma initially filed a preliminary injunction to prevent the sale of the line, as the names of both lines were too similar for many beauty buffs to tell the difference.
Even after the change, Boldface is already looking towards a bright future. “We’re confident that it’s not the name that matters to our fans, but the Kardashian sisters’ commitment to making this line a true reflection of their love of cosmetics,” Nicole Ostoya, Boldface’s CEO, explained to Women’s Wear Daily. “The brand is doing amazingly well at retail and we’re happy to put this behind us.”
While the change isn’t too drastic (their new self tanner is also shares the family name after all), we’re just glad we’ll still be able to snap up the brand’s faux lashes!
