The Met Gala Ups its Ticket Price

While we would like to think that the Met Gala is raising ticket prices to its illustrious annual gala to keep a certain reality star out, it seems that the fund-raising event wants to do just that.

Raise more funds.

So in an effort to do so, beginning next year, all tickets will start at $25,000. In previous years, if you weren’t a guest of an attending designer, you had to cough up either $15,000 or $25,000 to be among fashion’s elite.

The price hike hasn’t been confirmed by the Met or the evening’s hosts: Bradley Cooper, Sarah Jessica Parker, Oscar de la Renta, or Anna Wintour (who always gets the final say), but Page Six reports that “it will make the Met Gala even more high-fashion, even more exclusive, and more aspirational,” as the industry toasts to an exhibit on couturier Charles James.

Hm. This could get interesting.
