The pop star shared a snap of the new ad Wednesday morning — well before the brand had plans to announce the partnership. After the big news broke, the beauty brand tweeted a not so subtle reference to her upcoming album, Prism, stating, “Bold, bright, beam of light. Thrilled to announce [Katy Perry] is a Covergirl!”
Perry joins the ranks of songstresses like Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Pink, NERVO, Janelle Monaé, and most recently, little Becky G. She follows the same path as these lovely ladies, defining herself against other pop commodities in the music biz with her own fresh perspective. Not only that, she’s already built her own fragrance empire with her latest scent, Killer Queen.
While Pink played with the Clump Crusher Mascara and Jumbo Gloss Balm, and Nervo tested their nail art skills, we might see a highlighter or something to enhance radiance that would be perfect for Perry.We’ll just have to wait and see.
