The Row Reminds Us That High Fashion is Fit for All Ages

By  January 09, 2014

the row pre fall 14For their Pre-fall 2014 collection, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen proved that their classic creations are fit for every age, casting three models that defy the fashion industry’s obsession with youth. Starring as the faces of the line are beauties Esther de Jong, Ursula Wallis, and Linda Rodin, their ages ranging from 39 to 65 years-old. You may recognize grey haired stunner Rodin, a former model, fashion editor, stylist, and RODIN olio lusso founder, from Karen Walker’s spring/summer sunglasses campaign last year.

The collection consists of sleek and minimilastic menswear inspired basics. Luxurious looks featuring cashmere coats, thickly knit sweaters, silk blouses, and leather skirts make each ensemble look incredibly expensive, with the timeless pieces perfect for effortless mixing and matching. With versatile and sophisticated neutrals like camel, black, chocolate brown, navy, white, charcoal and heather grey, the 27-year old twins aimed to focus on the fundamentals of a practical wardrobe with what they called “classic American pieces.”

The line will be available at The Row’s first brick and mortar, opening this summer in Los Angeles. With this campaign as proof that the Olsen’s style aesthetic applies to a range of women, we expect the shop to become a favorite of So-Cal ladies of all ages in no time.
