The Smithsonian Can’t Get Enough of Our #FLOTUS

Obviously, we aren’t the only ones impressed with First Lady Michelle Obama and her style. The Smithsonian is clearly taken with our #FLOTUS too; while it’s normal for the museum to display the dress the First Lady chooses to wear to the President’s first inauguration, but it’s not so normal for the second.

Thanks to their clear appreciation for her style, the museum has chosen to display the ruby-colored Jason Wu gown she wore to the 2013 Presidential Inauguration; it will be available for viewing beginning on Tuesday, January 14th, the Associated Press is reporting.

The velvet-and-diamond-embellished chiffon dress and Jimmy Choo shoes Michelle wore after her husband was sworn into office will be displayed for a year in honor of the Smithsonian’s First Ladies exhibit.

A pretty big deal considering that typically, the museum collects each first lady’s first inaugural gown, but the gowns worn at re-election ceremonies usually go straight to presidential libraries.

Those Obamas, always creating history…
