Blowouts are a rare sight in the sweltering summer. One step out of the door during a humid day, and you can kiss your coif good-bye. In lieu of rocking a topknot all season long, we turned to Living Proof’s celebrity stylist Tim Rogers to get the scoop on their seasonal mane must-have and find out how we can shake up our hairstyle without the worry of frizz.

The brand’s Satin Hair Serum is the latest to join its Style Lab with the highest concentration of OFPMA, the brand’s patented Healthy Hair Molecule, and the serum’s Sera-Smooth technology to create the sleekest styles that last, especially when paired with the Straight spray. Rogers explained he loves “a classic, ultra smooth ‘rich-girl’ blowout” because “the brush glides through the hair so easily it cuts the blow dry time in half.”

Though the serum cuts down on serious styling time, the new hair staple isn’t limited to just blowouts and heat styling. “I give it to girls that air dry too, although the maximum smoothing happens with heat,” Rogers said.

As such, his favorite no-heat summer style is a soft crimped wave that you can set and forget at night and wake up with lusciously textured tresses. “[It goes with] any style, any length, any texture,” he said. Start with a pump (or two if you have thicker hair) of the Satin hair serum from mid-lengths to the ends. Braid any which way you like – remember the smaller the braid, the greater the texture. Twist and clip the sections, as rubber bands can leave dents. Once the hair is air-dried, break apart the sections with your fingers an get ready to ride the wave!
