Anytime the designers who work tirelessly to ensure that the rest of the world is always dressed to impress, get a moment to shine, we’re all for it. Thankfully, the Council of American Fashion Designers makes it a point to honor the fashion industry with the CFDA awards.

This year, Tom Ford is being honored will the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. It looks like making fairy tales come true on the red carpet may have paid off just a little bit. Or you know, everyone wants to rock Tom Ford now, like the Knowles-Carters. Either way, this is a pretty big honor. Perhaps, his long-term friend and muse Carine Roitfeld will present the award to him?

As for the designers who could be awarded on June 2nd at Alice Tully Hall, the nominees are the usual suspects:

Marc Jacobs, Joseph Altuzarra of Altuzarra and Alexander Wang are nominated for the Womenswear Designer of the Year award. Thom Browne, Rag & Bone’s Marcus Wainwright and David Neville and Public School’s Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow are up for Menswear Designer of the Year. The Accessories Designer of the Year award, meanwhile, will be decided between Wang, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen for The Row and Proenza Schouler’s Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough.

As in past years, the Swarovski award will honor a crop of emerging talent. In women’s wear, the nominees are Rosie Assoulin, Wes Gordon and Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters. In menswear, they are Hood by Air’s Shayne Oliver, Tim Coppens and Todd Snyder, while in accessory design, the award will be decided between Marc Alary, Irene Neuwirth and Jennifer Fisher.

In addition to Ford, a few other will receive special honors. Raf Simons, the International Award; Paul Cavaco, the Media Award in Honor of Eugenia Sheppard; Bethann Hardison, the Founder’s Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert.
