In 1998, two-level motel-like
Yosemite Lodge at the Falls was redesigned to reflect the natural surroundings, putting more of an emphasis on floor to ceiling windows that reveal sweeping views and wooden beams that blend into the forest area. It's not swank, but it does offer everything a visitor could wish for, including in many cases a private balcony (watch out for raccoons who will invite themselves in!). As the closest hotel to the falls, the lodge promises idyllic surroundings and easy access to some of the area's top attractions from hiking to river rafting to skiing. You can easily explore the grounds on foot or by bike here, or linger over a meal or drink in the Lodge’s Mountain Room with the throngs of families who come here each year.
